Severe Weather Threat Including Tornado Potential Next Week

A trough digging into the South will produce severe thunderstorms with the potential for tornadoes across the South Wednesday afternoon. The storms will move east into the Caroline’s Thursday where wind damage and possible tornado threat will exist early in the day.

Based on the latest model guidance, the storms will begin early in the day and across Mississippi and western Tennessee and spread east. Dew points in the 60s and enough heating will help with the development of the storms. Shear supports tornadoes and large hail. The 250 mb jet stream will have the left front quad over the area which supports vigorous upward motion.
