GFS Shows My Snow Concern for the Northeast and Appalachians

I know have been talking about this since over a week ago but finally the GFS is going in the direction. I even told my friend John everyday that snow could occur prior to Halloween.

This is more about the PNA going positive and cold air getting drawn into a storm coming out of the South. In fact, the tropical system in the Caribbean may get drawn into the storm via the Gulf of Mexico. The blocking pattern will have relax some so this is not a coastal storm but a storm that tracks from the southern Mississippi Valley to the Mid-Atlantic coast. On that track, cold air will get drawn into the storm and with a storm intensifying, we should see enough cold air to turn the rain over to wet snow. The next round of model runs are going to be fun to see if it holds.
